GREEN TURTLE MEETS BIG GREEN EGG AT CHEFS ON THE BEACH

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

THE ABACOS, BAHAMAS (March 10, 2014)  – Devour! The Beach and the Green Turtle Club have partnered with the Big Green Egg to wrap up The Bahamas’ hottest new festival in a delicious, unforgettable way.

Chefs on the Beach will feature chefs from all across North America cooking up fresh dishes on the beach using the ancient-style cooker for the festival’s final party. The mouthwatering menus will include grilled mahi with tropical fruit salsa, pickled Serrano and mustard cream, lobster tails and adobo lamb, goats’ cheese and charred poblano guacamole at the big beach BBQ.

“We are so pleased that Devour! The Beach and the Green Turtle Club have joined the Big Green Egg Culinary Partner Program. “Chefs on the Beach” will be an unforgettable final event to this incredible three-day ocean-side food extravaganza,” says Jodi Burson, Director of Brand Enhancement for Big Green Egg.

While the Big Green Egg is acclaimed as the Ultimate Cooking Experience for backyard cooks and grilling aficionados, the EGG has also become an invaluable “tool of the trade” for award-winning chefs in some of the most celebrated restaurants in the world – including the Green Turtle Club. All visiting chefs will take a turn on the EGG for the biggest beach BBQ on the island.

The three–day event, from March 26-29, features extraordinary culinary and wine events served up by celebrated chefs Jean Joho from Chicago/Los Vegas, Michael Blackie from Ottawa, Tom Fleming from Dallas, Craig Flinn from Halifax, Nova Scotia, and Cleveland’s Eric Williams. The Host Chef is Michael Howell, Executive Chef of The Green Turtle Club.

“The best chefs from across North America cooking up a storm on the beautiful Green Turtle Club beach using one of the oldest grill techniques. What could be better than this?” says Chef Howell.

ABOUT THE BIG GREEN EGG

The Big Green Egg Company was founded by Ed Fisher more than 30 years ago as he set out to develop a modernized version of an ancient Asian cooker for the backyard and the culinary marketplace. Not satisfied with the short-lived materials and marginal thermal properties of the typical kamado grill, Fisher focused on creating the very best outdoor cooker, period. This unique product, the Big Green Egg, now manufactured from advanced ceramic materials, is widely acclaimed as the best outdoor cooker in the world and has gained legions of fans (known as EGGheads) in over thirty-five countries. Often copied, never matched … there is only one, original Big Green Egg — The Ultimate Cooking Experience!
