Heartland Tour – The Retro Ride presented by Devour!

CALLING ALL RIDERS, RACERS, ROVERS & ROLLERS!

Twenty years ago, the Heartland Tour rolled into the Annapolis Valley and helped spark a generation of cycling culture in Nova Scotia. This summer, Heartland returns to Wolfville for a special anniversary celebration — Heartland Tour: The Retro Ride — bringing together riders, racers, rovers, and rollers for an afternoon of nostalgia, community, and cycling fun. Participants are encouraged to dust off vintage Heartland jerseys, retro team kits, classic bikes, and old event t-shirts as we celebrate two decades of memories, friendships, and life on two wheels in the place where it all began.

Presented in partnership with Devour! as part of the Town of Wolfville’s Mud Creek Days, the celebration continues with the Great Devour! Spaghetti Community Supper, live music, fireworks, and a retro dance after-party at Devour! Studios. Building on Devour!’s community-focused spirit, including the beloved Le Tour de l’Acadie Bike Ride during Devour! in October, the day blends cycling, food, music, and hospitality into one unforgettable summer gathering for riders, families, visitors, and the broader community alike. Everybody is welcome! It’s all fun, free to ride, and family-friendly!

Pre-register for FREE rides: 30 km, 58 km, a 25km trail ride and a trail walk for families. Riders will also enjoy $5 off the supper cost of $20. Order your tickets for  The Great Devour! Spaghetti Community Dinner here. Routes will be assigned, the 58 km ride will have a rest stop at about the halfway point, and we will have ride marshals, sweeps, and a support vehicle to help you, if required. Approved helmets are required (we can only take “retro” so far! ). Riders are asked to observe all rules of the road or trail.

2:00 pm Heartland Tour – The Retro Ride presented by Devour!
All rides depart from Wolfville’s Waterfront Park, just behind Devour! Studios.

• 58 km Valley Road Ride–A scenic group ride through Wolfville and surrounding Valley communities featuring rolling countryside, coastal views, and classic Heartland Tour routes.
• 30 km Community Ride–A relaxed-paced social ride through Wolfville and nearby communities designed for recreational cyclists, families, and casual riders.
• 25 km Family & Cruiser Ride–A fun community ride along the Wolfville waterfront and trail system for riders of all ages and abilities.
• In cooperation with NS Walks, there will also be a family trail walk.

3:30 pm Community Gathering at Devour! Studios
Live local music, refreshments, sponsor activations, and rider stories from the past 20 years.

4:30 pm Retro Ride Award
Dig out some old kit, dust off those vintage wheels, get geared up as the Heartland Tour’s most enthusiastic supporter – best overall wins a custom jersey and bibs. It’s all about the ride, good friends, and a good time.

5:00 pm – 8:00 pm The Great Devour! Spaghetti Community Supper
A large community supper open to riders, families, volunteers, and the public featuring generous plates of spaghetti (all-you-can-eat, in fact!), garlic bread, local hospitality, and long-table community dining.

8:00 pm-10:00 pm Live Music & Mud Creek Days Festivities
Celebrate alongside the Town of Wolfville with live entertainment, outdoor gathering spaces, and evening festivities throughout the waterfront and inside the Studios.

10:00 pm Fireworks over Wolfville Waterfront

10:30 pm Retro Dance After-Party & Bar at Devour! Studios
Classic tunes, dancing, drinks, and a late-night community celebration to close out the 20th Anniversary festivities.
