Ali Hassan Ali Hassan is a stand-up comedian, actor, author, and broadcaster, best known as the host of CBC Radio’s Laugh Out Loud and the annual Canada Reads. A Canadian Screen Award nominee for his roles in Run The Burbs and the Peabody Award-winning Sort Of, Ali has built a 20-year career performing across Canada and internationally. A frequent performer at the Just for Laughs Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, he has toured extensively with acclaimed solo shows, including Muslim Interrupted and Does This Taste Funny?. His memoir, Is There Bacon in Heaven?, was praised as “perhaps the funniest and most heartfelt Canadian memoir yet.”
