The 11th edition of Devour! The Food Film Fest will take place from October 18-24, 2021. While reduced in scope due to the global pandemic, we have devised our second hybrid festival of safe and enjoyable socially-distanced, in person activities, while also streaming many aspects of this year’s festival.
Tickets are on sale by phone at 1-888-311-9090, through Ticketpro’s website, and at all Ticketpro outlets in Nova Scotia, including:

Ticket buyers must show proof of double vaccination in order to attend event(s). The first round of tickets will be released on September 23, and more tickets will be released on October 4th depending upon COVID-19 protocols at that time.
In keeping with Nova Scotia provincial health regulations and a desire to keep all our guests safe and healthy, Devour! requires proof of double Covid-19 vaccine immunization upon entry to all events, so please ensure you have your documentation with you when attending. At Devour!, the only thing we want guests taking home with them is the food and film experience of a lifetime.

Devour! Satellite Box Offices – Prior to main film and event programming in the lobby of the Al Whittle Theatre at 450 Main Street, Wolfville, and at the door of selected event locations a half an hour before.
If you are no longer able to attend a festival event in person (especially if you are feeling unwell and displaying any signs of COVID-19), please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org within two hours of the event’s start time. All sales for streamed screenings or workshops are final; refunds are not permitted. Tickets are valid only for the event for which they are issued, and cannot be transferred or replaced if lost or stolen.
Festival attendees with tickets are guaranteed admittance until 10 minutes before scheduled start time. At 10 minutes to scheduled show time, all available seats are released to the rush line. The rush line will be seated on a first come, first served basis.
COVID-19 Policy for all Festival Participants & Attendees 2021
Devour! is committed to the highest standards of public health and safety for everyone during the COVID-19 pandemic. We follow the Government of Nova Scotia guidelines around events and gatherings in public spaces. In keeping with Nova Scotia provincial health regulations and a desire to keep all our guests safe and healthy, Devour! will require proof of full Covid-19 vaccine immunization along with a valid photo ID upon entry to all events with no exceptions. At Devour!, the only thing we want guests taking home with them is the food and film experience of a lifetime. Currently, we are planning our event with the following protocols and capacities in place as follows:
Proof of Vaccination Policy
Admission to the Festival: All attendees (age 12 and older) must show proof of double vaccination along with a valid photo ID in order to gain access to all venues and event(s) at Devour!. Anyone without proof will be denied entry. Paper or digital copies will be accepted. On a first come first serve basis, Devour! will issue a number of wristbands to those attending multiple events throughout the festival to speed up access to events.
No Exceptions: As per current Nova Scotia guidelines, anyone age 12 or older who is not fully vaccinated will not be able to access discretionary, recreational, or non-essential activities, with minimal exceptions. At Devour!, we will not accept medical exemptions or children under the age of 12 who are unvaccinated or only have one vaccination to date. Providing access to our festival is important to us and this year, our festival is online. We encourage anyone unable to attend in person to attend remotely in the interest of safety for all in these cases.
Protocols to Keep You Safe:
Admission into Venues: Anyone with coronavirus symptoms, or who has been in close contact with anyone who has had symptoms within the past 14 days, will be denied access. All festival patrons must be double vaccinated and show their CanImmuinze record and valid photo ID. Patrons attending multiple events will be issued a bracelet at their first event that they can use to show throughout the week.
Masks: Masks (non-medical masks covering the nose and mouth) continue to be required in indoor public places, such as rental halls, restaurants and other venues. Masks can be removed to eat and drink and then must be put back on. Masks (for purchase) and hand sanitizer will be available at venue entrances, and we will ask that patrons wear their masks, and request that everyone sanitize their hands before entering. Anyone without a mask will be denied entry.
Food Service & Industry Presenters: Food and beverage can be picked up at chef stations, take-out counters or the bar (masks on) and people are permitted to take their masks down to take a bite or sip and then cover again. Chefs and food handlers at these events must be masked to serve. Industry presenters and performers are exempt from the requirement to wear a mask on stage while performing activities requiring vocalization such as talking or singing at the event or activity.
Cleaning Protocols: Hard surfaces in the seating area will be wiped down with sanitizer between events with audiences. This includes door handles, hand railings, seat arm rests and backs. Tables, chairs and hard surfaces will be wiped down with sanitizer between workshops, and bathrooms will be checked between each event.
Anyone not adhering to Covid protocols will be reported to Devour! management, who will log the event & address the situation. We kindly ask that patrons who become unwell during an event seek a staff member or volunteer immediately. If you become symptomatic on the day of the event prior to an hour before event time, please contact the box office at 1-888-311-9090 for a full refund.
How To Stream Online Films & Programs
We have opted to stick to a streaming schedule to share our content as far into the world as possible. A small segment of our program is geo-blocked to Nova Scotia and Canada. Our aim is to make this new-to-all-of-us process as easy as possible, so we’ve included guidelines and options below on streaming at festival time. We’re working with a Canadian based streaming service, CineSend. Remember: if all else fails, refresh your browser.

Step 4: To access your movies, login or follow the link in your confirmation email at the scheduled date and time (films start 15 minutes in advance and you have a 48-hour window to watch, workshops start at their scheduled times and you can watch at your leisure from that point on):

B. PASS HOLDERS will receive a link to create an account on watch.devourfest.com. Log in via that link or on the Devour! TV app to access all your films in one place.

What are the system requirements?
You can watch content on PCs running Windows 7+, and Intel-based Macs running OSX 10.12+. You can also watch films on Android tablets and phones using Chrome, and on iPhones and iPads using Safari.
What are the requirements for Windows computers?
Windows 7, Windows 8.1 or Windows 10
Supported browsers: Google Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, Opera. We recommend using the latest version of your browser. Internet Explorer is not supported.
What are the requirements for Mac computers?
Mac OSX 10.12 or later
Supported browsers: Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Opera. We recommend using the latest version of your browser.
Can I watch content on my iPhone/iPad?
Yes, you can watch content using Safari on iOS 11.2 or later.
- Note: The “Screen Mirroring” feature cannot be used – please ensure you turn off Screen Mirroring if you encounter trouble playing content.
- Note: You cannot use a lightning to HDMI adapter to connect to your TV. Try using AirPlay instead if you have a compatible TV or streaming box.
Can I watch content on my Android device?
Yes, you can watch content using Chrome on Android 6.0 or later.
Can I Chromecast?
You can cast to a 3rd generation or newer Chromecast stick.
To Chromecast from an Android phone or tablet:
- Make sure your Chromecast devices is on the same Wi-fi network as your mobile device
- After the video is playing, tap the “Cast” icon in the bottom right corner of the video player. If the icon doesn’t appear, unfortunately casting is not supported on your device.
To Chromecast from your computer:
- Make sure you’re using Google Chrome as your browser.
Can I AirPlay to my AppleTV?
You can AirPlay from most browsers if you have an AirPlay compatible TV or streaming box by selecting the AirPlay button in the bottom right-hand side of the player. If the icon doesn’t appear, unfortunately casting is not supported on your device.
- Compatible Smart TVs include select Samsung, LG, Sony and VIZIO models.
- Compatible streaming boxes include AppleTV Gen4 and above, and select Roku HD streaming devices running the most up-to-date software.
Can I use the web browser built into my TV?
Maybe. Unfortunately many built-in Smart TVs’ web browsers don’t support protected content playback. If you get a black screen or error message, it’s likely that your TV is not compatible. Try another method to get the video onto your TV.
Can I connect my computer with a cable to watch on my TV?
You can directly connect your laptop or computer using an HDMI cable, by following these steps:
- Make sure your computer is close enough to your TV for the HDMI cable to reach.
- Connect one end of the HDMI cable into your computer.
- Plug the other end of the cable into an available HDMI port on the TV. Take note of the HDMI input number.
- Using the TV’s remote control, set the TV to the HDMI input that matches the port you connected the cable to.
- If your computer’s display does not automatically appear on your television screen, you may need to have the computer manually detect the display:
- Windows: Right-click on the desktop and select “Display Settings” > “Detect” > “Multiple displays”, and select “Duplicate these displays”), and click Apply.
- Mac: Go to the Apple Menu and choose “System Preferences”. Choose “Displays”, and hold down the “Option” key to show the “Detect Displays” button. Click on “Detect Displays” while holding down the Option key.
What happens if I forget my password?
Use the password reset option on the login page to reset your password. You will need access to the e-mail address you use to log in.
Why does video playback stall or not play smoothly?
We use adaptive bitrate streaming which means the streaming quality will automatically adjust based on your internet speed. If your internet connection is poor or inconsistent you may experience problems during playback. If you’re on wifi, try moving closer to your router.
I see a black screen when I’m trying to AirPlay on my TV
You likely have “Screen Mirroring” turned on in your device settings. Please turn off the screen mirroring setting and start AirPlay by selecting the AirPlay button in the bottom right-hand side of the player.
I see a black screen but can hear audio
If you have an external display or TV connected with an HDMI cable, try disconnecting it. If videos play after it is disconnected, then unfortunately the display or cable doesn’t support encrypted video. Try another method.
Why do I see a black screen after the pre-roll if I am casting to Chromecast?
Some Chromecast versions cannot support transitions from one video to another. If this happens, turn off casting and re-start it once the film starts playing.
