Raise a glass to the best of the Fest. Join filmmakers, chefs, special guests, and the Devour! crowd for a celebratory Sunday brunch as we reveal the winners of the coveted Golden Tine Awards. Honour outstanding filmmaking across animation, documentary, and drama, hear from the creative talent behind this year’s most memorable films, and toast another extraordinary Festival over a delicious brunch and local bubbles. Great food, great company, and one final celebration of the stories that moved us. Special thanks to this year’s Jury–Karen Pinchin, Andrew Murphy and Karen Wentzell–for all their hard work selecting the winners.

Karen Pinchin

Karen Pinchin is an award-winning science journalist, author, and trained cook whose work investigates food systems, sustainability, and human behaviour. Her longform writing has appeared in The Globe and Mail, Maclean’s, and The Walrus, and her first book, Kings of Their Own Ocean: Tuna, Obsession, and the Future of Our Seas, was named a Globe and Mail Best Book. She’s currently reporting on Arctic ice and Inuit foodways for Canadian Geographic, supported by the Pulitzer Center’s Ocean Reporting Network, and recently worked as a screenwriter and associate producer on Being Still, a documentary film about analog photography in Atlantic Canada.@karenpinchin

Andrew Murphy

Andrew Murphy brings 25 years of experience across the international film industry and festival circuit. In 2026, he joined TIFF’s inaugural Market Programming team as Producer, Business Initiatives, overseeing the development, curation and execution of the International Financing and Project Market and IP Exchange. Previously, he served as Co-Head and Artistic Director of Inside Out, Canada’s largest 2SLGBTQ+ film festival, expanding its international profile and industry programs. A former Programming Manager at the Atlantic International Film Festival, Murphy has served on numerous international juries, including the Berlin Film Festival’s Teddy Jury, New Orleans Film Festival, Cardiff’s Iris Prize Festival and Windsor International Film Festival. @mandrewm

Karen Wentzell

Karen Wentzell is a Nova Scotia-based Producer and President of Waterstar Entertainment. She focuses on scripted comedy and female-driven, socially conscious drama. With more than 60 hours of television produced, her credits include Diggstown, The Madones, Seed, and the hit series Trailer Park Boys. She also helped bring Hallmark productions back to Nova Scotia with The Secret Gift of Christmas. Her productions have earned nearly 40 Canadian Screen Award nominations and multiple wins. A former CBC Sports producer and TSN reporter, Wentzell is Vice-Chair of Screen Nova Scotia and a committed advocate for growing the province’s screen industry and underrepresented voices. @karen.wentzell
