Devour! for the Wine Lover

Whether you fancy a crisp Nova Scotian L’Acadie Blanc or the full-bodied dryness only a Cabernet Sauvignon can offer, you’ll find an event to suit your taste at this year’s festival. From vineyard tours to wine related films, Devour! was made for the wine lover.

Unlock the irresistible wine culture of Spain in the Savour Spain Workshop brought to you by none other than the wine-loving folks at Bishop’s Cellar. More of a white drinker? It’s all chardonnay – from the most famous regions to those produced right here at home – at the aptly named Chardonn-YAY Workshop.

Don’t forget to grab tickets to several wine-related films. Thursday’s afternoon feature Dreaming of Wine chronicles the journey of a handful of pioneers to fortify the wine industry in the Priorat region of Spain in the 1980s. Follow one French family’s dream to produce wine and bring prosperity to Rogljevo, Serbia in The Promise on Friday night.  Don’t miss out on the world premiere of Grand Cru at the Devour! Spotlight Gala Saturday evening. Stick around after the film for an interview with director David Eng by Devour alum Bob Blumer. Lastly, the heir of a struggling winery returns to his roots in Back to Burgundy showing Sunday afternoon.

You’ll also want to hop on the Bubbles Bus to drink in the beautiful Gaspereau Valley. You’ll be treated to three tastings each at two of the regions best traditional method sparkling producers – Benjamin Bridge and L’Acadie. Tours depart daily.

While you’re in the Valley, visiting Nova Scotia’s newest and only biodynamic winery, Lightfoot & Wolfville is also a must. Friday’s Devour! Cocktail Pop-Up Party Under the Stars may be the perfect opportunity.

This Devour! #drinkitup. Cheers!
