Menu Released for Devour! Presents Chef

Wolfville, N.S. (August 18, 2014) – Don’t miss your chance to get a sneak peek of all things Devour! The Food Film Fest through an experiential dinner and film on Thursday, August 28. Join Front and Central’s Chef Dave Smart and The Brooklyn Warehouse’s Chef Mark Gray in a collaboration of two culinary titans – Devour! style.

The evening will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a screening of Chef at Al Whittle Theatre, located on 450 Main St. in Wolfville. Jon Favreau stars as Carl Casper, a chef who suddenly quits his job at a prominent Los Angeles restaurant, only to find himself moving to Miami to open a food truck. The film also stars Dustin Hoffman, Sofia Vergara, Scarlett Johansson and John Leguizamo.

Following Chef, Chef Smart will host a dinner inspired by the movie at Front and Central, located on 117 Front St. in Wolfville. Dinner will begin at 8:45 p.m. and will include a three-course meal inspired by the film.

The menu:

  • Pork belly with carrot puree, salsa verde and pickled radish
  • Seafood salad – calamari, mussels, cold smoked scallops, onion puree, kimchi and orange
  • Smoked rib-eye with pommes boulangere, caramelized onion and cauliflower puree
  • Seasonal berries and shortbread with buttermilk semifreddo

Front and Central has recently been named one of the 100 Best Restaurants in Canada by vacay.ca. Both chefs Smart and Gray will compete in the upcoming Gold Medal Plates event, a national fundraiser for Canada’s high performance athletes, in Halifax this October.

Tickets are available online now! Tickets to the film are $10.00, and tickets to dinner at Front and Central are $65.00 (including tax and gratuity.) From more information, please contact us at film@devourfest.com or check out our website.
