WALLACE, NS (April 7, 2016) – Food and film fans will flock to Fox Harb’r Resort from May 13 to 15 as the world’s largest food film festival, Devour! presents an Oscar-worthy collaboration showcasing the finest ingredients Nova Scotia has to offer.
This cinematic culinary partnership will bring together a selection of short films curated by Devour! managing director Lia Rinaldo, paired with a custom menu developed by Devour! executive director Michael Howell and Fox Harb’r executive chef Shane Robilliard. From beginning to end, the weekend-long program promises to be a mouth-watering experience with guests being treated to locally sourced food, fine wines and award-winning films paired with the breathtaking back drop of the one of the country’s finest luxury resorts.
“Devour!’s commitment to putting a spotlight on Nova Scotia as well as some of our award-winning local products and elevating the visitor experience for our guests made this partnership a natural fit for Fox Harb’r, ” said Chef Robilliard. “We’ve redesigned the Cape Cliff Dining Room with a sustainable seafood menu which will be a feature theme throughout the Devour! weekend.”
Providing attendees with a taste of Devour!, the signature program is set to include a cocktail reception, cooking demonstrations, a tour of Devonian Coast’s Jost Vineyard and the Devour! food and film five course dinner and brunch featuring local sparkling wines, scallops, lobster, oysters, braised beef and cheeses.
“The opportunity to celebrate the ongoing successes of Devour! at one of Canada’s most outstanding resorts is a true honour for us,” said Howell. “The chance to collaborate with Chef Robilliard and his team on a food and film mash-up is something we’re looking forward to sharing with the guests at Fox Harb’r.”
Over the past year, Devour! organizers have been busy producing over 20 pop-up events around the world, as well as managing their largest Wolfville-based event to date, with over 9,000 attendees visiting the rural Nova Scotian town for the festival’s fifth edition. This practice is one of Fox Harb’r’s founding principles – sharing the distinct authenticity of the Maritimes with the global visitor by welcoming them to Nova Scotia’s North Shore and the Sunrise Trail region.
Although the resort is known for its out-of-market visitation, Kevin Toth, President of Fox Harb’r, is aiming to increase the number of regional visitors to the resort.
“We are expanding our program offering to attract new guests and we know that unique events like Devour! will undoubtedly open the door to welcome new guests that have never visited Fox Harb’r” said Toth. “Some think of the resort as a membership-only destination, however, Fox Harb’r is open to all guests, particularly those who are from the region. Our Atlantic Canadian guests have become some of our best ambassadors.”
