November 30, 2021: Thanks to the generosity of our partners, donors, and participants, we recently wrapped the 11th edition of Devour! The Food Film Fest highlighting Global Indigenous Cinema and Cuisine. It was a transformative event that left festival-goers in awe of the Indigenous stories, creativity and flavours we were privileged to share.
Through physically distanced in-person events, online streaming and signature events, we were able to celebrate fabulous food and fantastic films with our friends from near and far. In fact, this year we hosted 4,589 in-person attendees — triple last year’s number. We were thrilled to welcome so many back to Devour! safely.
The Slow Motion Food Film Fest Society (aka Devour! The Food Film Fest) is a federally registered charity. Our mission — to grow awareness of food and its impact on community, society and health through film — is more important than ever. We must respect our land, understand how our food is grown, and improve our environmental sustainability for the shared future of our planet. We share these principles in many forms at our main Festival and at events throughout the year. We also create year-round opportunities for training, community engagement and education for adults and youth.
