New to Devour! LIVE MUSIC EVERY DAY!

Devour! The Food Film Festival Is ramping up the fun with live music events starting Wednesday, Oct. 25 night through Saturday, Oct. 28 starting at 10pm. Music for all ears from DJ UNPIER to the greatest Mardi Gras party put on by Louisiana legend Dwayne Dopsie and the Zydeco Hellraisers! Join us at the Audi Halifax Stage at Devour! Studios for unforgettable live music and dancing!

Devour! Taste of NS Opening Gala: Weds. Oct. 25 5-7 pm 
Serena Wu, a 20-year-old multilingual singer/songwriter from Halifax, NS, will open the festival performing three songs: the anthems for Canada and France, and L’Acadie’s Ave Maris Stella. Serena embarked on her musical journey at the age of 15 when she started songwriting. She released her first song, “Assez,” a song about overcoming insecurity and strengthening self-esteem, as part of the French project “La Relève in 2020.” She has since performed for the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo in 2021 and for Acadian National Day at Grand parade in 2022. 

Devour! Opening Night After Party: Weds. Oct. 25th 9 pm 
Special guests, delegates, and sponsors of the 13th edition of Devour! The Food Film Fest will schmooze into the wee hours at Devour! Studios. Celebrate and raise a glass of one of our Devour! signature cocktails and chow down on authentic Nova Scotian fare, ranging from fresh oysters from Sober Island Oysters to rappie pie from Chef Shane Robicheau. This party will also feature live music by  Donald MacLennan Trio.

Le Marché de Blomidon: Thurs. Oct. 26 3-6 pm – Free Event +$5 Bites
Indulge in this free, outdoor food market celebrating and sampling Quebec food products  at the Wolfville Waterfront Park! Students from NSCC, George Brown College, Centennial College and multiple Nova Scotia Community Colleges will create French-inspired $5 bites using ingredients from both Québec and Nova Scotia. The Halifax Jazz Festival is also presenting live music at this event: 

3:00 p.m. – 3:50 p.m. – FUSION

4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. – Donald Maclennan Trio (2 sets)

Ticket Price: Free admission, $5.00 dishes for purchase; Open to all!

Friday night get ready to drink, dance, and mingle with new and old festival friends alike into the wee hours of the night. New Brunswick’s LA PATENTE will be bringing the noise with explosive energy that ignites even the coldest stages. Their raw, razor-sharp music has already won them a large and devoted fan base. La Patente presents a cocktail of punk-rock and country-folk, with a unique contemporary splash.

Saturday, Oct. 28 Acadian/Cajun Day – Zydeco Party with Louisian Legend Dwayne Dopsie and the Zydeco Hellraisers and Les Fireflies 9 pm Tickets $25 
Get ready for a Mardi Gras party like no other! Straight from Lafayette, Louisiana, Dwayne Dopsie and the Zydeco Hellraisers will bring their high energy style of music to the party!  Dwayne’s music  blazes a refreshingly distinct path for 21st century Zydeco music. This major music event will also feature a 50 foot Acadian flag made out of seafood by our Acadian chefs and seafood partners: Victoria Co-operative Fisheries, Fathom/Afishionado and Comeau’s Sea Foods!
