Day 3 – From Dawn to Well-Beyond Dusk

The first full day of programming has arrived with so many fresh and inspired films, workshops and events to take in. Whether you’re sharpening up on your filmmaking, culinary skills or wine knowledge, be sure to catch some of the amazing films screening at the Al Whittle to complete your festival experience.

WORKSHOPS

Head into the wild for our one-of-a-kind filmmaking intensive – journeying into the backcountry of Nova Scotia to hunt, fish, forage, and film with Chef Blair Lebsak and filmmaker Kevin Kossowan. Learn how to give your knives some love with Master Freehand Sharpener Peter Nowlan. Chef Paul Virant demonstrates new ways to innovate with preserved foods, with a focus on local, seasonal eating. Andy Hay and Dave Culligan offer tips, tricks, and hacks to expertly capture the food experience through digital videography. Explore the latest trend in “wild wines”, and learn about the renewed interest in traditional winemaking techniques with Sommelier Jenny Gammon.  Get the inside scoop on trade secrets for impressive, yet approachable cuisine with leading Ottawa Chef Michael Blackie.

TASTE OF NOVA SCOTIA AWARDS

Celebrate the flavours of Nova Scotia at this free awards event. The top food and culinary tourism operators in Nova Scotia will be recognized with a reception to follow at the Festival Lounge from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

GET SOME STREET GRUB!

This year marks the fourth edition of our largest FREE outdoor event! The Devour! Street Food Party – is a great way to get the whole family in on Devour’s deliciousness with delectable dishes from restaurants and vendors across King’s county. Great tunes included – the K-Rock 89.3 Cruiser will be there to help get the party started!

DAILY HAPPY HOUR

Unwind, relax and mingle at our most hospitable of hours of the festival. We’ll be hosting a Daily Happy Hour from 5:30-7:30 over three days of the festival. On this first evening, members from our Devour! Board of Directors and Devour! Advisory Panel will be greeting you in the Festival Lounge. Cheers!
